Amazon announced today that they are opening a self-service delivery facility in the University of Pennsylvania, where students can directly pick up and return their Amazon packages. The Amazon Locker provides a convenient and safe place for students to pick up their packages as they are not always in their dorm or apartment. Amazon Lockers are already in place at the University of Massachusetts, the University of Cincinnati as well as the University of California, Los Angeles and will be expanding into more California campuses. Amazon wants to build tighter relationships with the colleges, whose mail rooms are being overfilled with Amazon orders, and hopes to encourage more students to sign up for Amazon Prime.
